Ann Aurand

Ann Aurand is a deserving recipient of the DAISY Award.

Ann exemplifies the kind of nurse that patients and families, as well as nurses, physicians and other members of the health care team, recognizes as an outstanding role model. One of her patients writes:

"Ann was my nurse when I was in telemetry a month ago and again today when I came to the Emergency Department. I cannot tell you what wonderful care she gives to her patients. She is very compassionate and patient. Ann goes the extra mile to provide excellent nursing care to her patients while making them feel more relaxed. Ann’s sincere friendliness also helps one feel less nervous. When I was in ICU a month ago, I was very worried that my symptoms were caused by my heart. At the same time, I was very sad because one of my best friends was dying of cancer. Ann was so good to listen to me babble on. She cheered me up considerably. I must say you have the best Emergency Department because of staff like Ann."
