Annie Lucas, RN

4 Tower, St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital - Oakland Center

Madison Heights, Michigan

Annie Lucas, RN on 4 Tower at Oakland Center, was honored as the April recipient of the DAISY Award.  Nominations for the DAISY Award come from patients, families, and associates alike.  Annie was nominated by a fellow nurse who works in Time Planning.  Annie has shown not only kindness and compassion in caring for her patients, but also exceptional skill in starting difficult IVs.

Nancy Wein writes, “Annie is calm and giving in all of her dealings with patients and staff alike. Her unique gift of starting IVs on nearly hopeless veins is legendary at Oakland. She gives her gifts unselfishly; always has a kind and welcoming smile, no matter the hour or length of the day. Her sweet face is the closest ideal of an earth angel. She is an ideal to aspire to and inspirational to all. Patients and families ask for her. Such is her way of being. She deserves a DAISY.”

Surrounded by her co-workers and joined by her Manager, Kennetha MacKool, Oakland Center Site Lead Chris Fornal, and President Joe Tasse, Annie was very touched and honored to receive her DAISY Award.
