Ashley Boots

Ashley is a skilled and caring clinician who took care of my mother and our family during my mother’s last days of life. My mother arrive at the Heart Center of The Christ Hospital on June 3rd and left for Hospice on June 7th.

Ashley was not only on top of everything that needed to be done for my mother’s care and well being, she also lovingly attended to the needs of our family as we struggled to come to grips with the end of my Mom’s life. From a fresh box of tissues to a hug to keeping us informed of the events ahead….she thought of everything and did it with grace and dignity. She even called in from home when her schedule changed and she found out that she would not be coming in on the next shift.

In my mind, she also made an excellent decision which considered both the avoidance of both an unnecessary stress for my mother and an unnecessary expense. An MRI was scheduled. The neurologist visited my mother and I questioned the need for the MRI during the time when she was actively dying. As it turns out, much earlier that day Ashley had already taken into account the stress this test would have caused Mom and the utter lack of necessity at that point in time and had waited appropriately and prudently for additional input form the neurologist.

But above all I want to acknowledge Ashley's expert skills and genuine compassion.
