Barbara Beals

The day my daughter was born was the scariest day of my life.  I had a severe case of HELLP syndrome.  Barb Beals was my nurse in Labor and Delivery.  My husband was with me, but the rest of my family is out of state and couldn’t be there.  Due to complications after delivery I was bleeding (lost over ½ my blood) which was scary and painful.  Throughout the whole ordeal, Barb was there.  When masked doctors and nurses flanked my bed working on me, Barb was there.  When I was whisked away to OR for a DNC, Barb was there.  And when I woke up, Barb was still there, even though she should have been home.  The next day Barb made sure to be my nurse and cared for me.  For many days after that, Barb checked in on my and my baby – who was in the NICU.  I couldn’t have my parents or grandparents with me, but thank goodness I had Barb.  I feel as though she were the ring leader of all the guardian angels that were with me that day.
