Claudeth Jordan

Ms. Jordan's several nominations read, in part, as follows: I would like to nominate Claudeth Jordan from the DRC as a deserving recipient of The DAISY Award. This nurse’s clinical skill and especially her compassionate care exemplifies the kind of nurse that our patients, their families and our staff recognize as an out siding role model. She consistently meets all of the criteria (trust, respect, excellence, compassion and commitment) to be considered a nominee for the award. Ms. Jordan goes above and beyond the call of duty, day in and day out, to meet the needs of the many patients who have to travel from outside VA facilities to the Houston VAMC to be seen in the Neurosurgery clinic or to undergo surgery. In the 33 years I have been in this profession, I can’t think of another individual who consistently approaches each situation, as difficult as they may be, with the same steadfastness as Ms. Jordan. Without her attention to detail, these patients’ journey through the process would not run as smoothly as it does. From arranging/changing travel and housing arrangements to seeing that appropriate studies have been completed, she consistently takes care of the veterans and their families with utmost respect and compassion. She is always available to answer their questions and concerns. Without Ms. Jordan’s excellent work, out of state Neurosurgical patients would have a difficult time. I would nominate Claudeth Jordan from the Diagnostic Resources center for The DAISY Award. There isn’t one situation I’d like to exemplify, there are too many. On a daily basis, Claudeth helps patients navigate medical appointments, flight reservations, hotel and Fisher House accommodations, travel reimbursement, obstructions to planned surgery, etc. She takes as good care of family as of patients, and is uniformly applauded by patients, family, and staff for her productivity and affability. She has a work ethic seldom seen in the system, and an unwavering excellent attitude. She is one of the most extraordinary nurses I have ever had the privilege to see in action in my career.
