Danielle Saunier

Danielle daily treats her patients with care and compassion.  She looks beyond the patient to include family and support members of the patient to always ensure her patients receive the highest level of care.  One evening at the end of her shift she had family members come to the PACU to say goodnight to her patient. (Pt was an overnight guest).  When the husband arrived in the PACU, he realized he needed his car keys that were with the patient’s belongings.  What should have been a simple matter of obtaining belongings from the floor became a 2 hour search for lost belongings.  Danielle would not go home until the gentleman’s keys were found so that he could go home and her patient could rest knowing he was okay.  This is so typical of Danielle.  She will go to a floor to orient a new nurse to ensure better care of patients.  As a member of the PPC, she exemplifies the word Professional daily in our unit with her care and leadership.  Although she is continuing her education and she works odd shifts to accommodate a school schedule, she still remains positive and upbeat with her patients even when I know she has been study hard or worked long hours.
