Darlene Westhoff

Darlene began her career at TCH@Parker after having worked many years at the TCH main campus in the medical/surgical departments. As a clinical expert, Darlene brought her expertise to the new operations orienting many staff to clinical life in the Network of Care. In addition to her clinical care, Darlene represents TCH @ Parker on a number of critical committees and operational roll-outs including: documentation; EPIC super user and the newly established bar coding project.

What Darlene always brings to the table in the voice of operations unique to off-site locations in a style that supports active problem solving. Darlene has been instrumental in re-designing EPIC flow sheets and computer documentation tools to fit the care delivery challenges unique to network sites while never losing site of the patient at the center of care. Darlene’s presence on the night sheet solidifies a team approach that is echoed in the words of support from the medical team. Dr. Rachael Workman describes Darlene as “a clinical expert with sound judgment and assessment skills that can readily identify patients needs and collaborates with the medical team for positive outcomes”. Darlene is innovative in care delivery and has a unique ability to provide service recovery in some of the most challenging off shift issues. She excels in her interactions with patient’s and families…even in the wee hours of the night shift when most are normally asleep. Her positive attitude and approachability makes Darlene a favored mentor of new staff and physicians. Darlene is respected for her easy going personality; her clinical expertise and constant desire for new knowledge and her love of “gadgets”. She is a Rock Star among her friends; peers and especially with  the patients and families at TCH@Parker and I am honored to work with her.
