Debra Alterio, RN in our Emergency Department here at Winchester Hospital was nominated by a fellow nurse for her “extraordinary caring and compassion” in comforting a dying patient whose family wasn’t present. In the nomination, the nurse described how she observed Debra talking softly to the patient and stroking her hair. Deb stayed with her patient until the end. |
