Donna Koenig

Donna has worked tirelessly to promote nursing excellence here in the ICU at Saint Peter’s University Hospital. She has been a dedicated advocate and collaborator in completing the intense application processes for the AACN’s Beacon Award as well as the Joint Commission’s Eisenberg Award.

Donna was instrumental in the success and implementation of the Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy with the new PrismaFlex equipment in the ICU.  This involved additional collaboration with the ICU staff, Nephrologists and Critical Committee to plan, revise and implement policy and procedures, physician orders, nursing flowsheets and develop educational sessions for staff and physicians.

Donna is the type of person who never says no and is always willing to give her time and talent to benefit the unit.  She is a tremendous asset to the ICU and demonstrates a true love and enthusiasm for the nursing profession.
