Dotti Simone

Dotti Simone is our DAISY winner for April 2011 at Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego. Dotti is a long time employee, having worked in the NICU for over 30 years. She is an excellent nurse, is an advocate for her tiny patients, supports and teaches their families, and is a resource to coworkers. She is on the Extremely Low Birth Weight team, and a member of the ECMO team. Dotti cares for the sickest, most unstable, fragile babies, and does it with a smile and calmness. She is a role model for staff and helps to orient new staff to the unit. Dotti is known for her "bow therapy" where she makes tiny ribbon bows for her baby's hair. Dotti reflects everything DAISY represents and we are privileged to work with her.
