Eloise Lopez
I would like to nominate Eloise Lopez for the DAISY Award because of how she used her translating skills to assist me with discharging a patient. On August 9, 2010 a patient was supposed to be discharged to Mexico the next day at 4 a.m. However, the translator was unable to translate the discharge orders into Spanish because she did not have time and the doctor had not written the orders. Eloise had already clocked out and was getting ready to go home. She waited until the doctor wrote the orders and then she translated everything. She also printed extra paper work. This is how she goes above and beyond to help her patients every day.
