“My husband was having a rough night while recovering from abdominal surgery,” said Gail Wolf’s nominator. “I was not able to stay overnight to care for him since I needed to be home with our children. Gail was not the nurse assigned to his care, but during his period of extreme discomfort she was a compassionate caretaker. She checked on him often, communicated her whereabouts, took initiative in easing his discomfort, and thoughtfully helped to meet his needs.” In closing, the nominator explained that Gail really stood out as one of our best nurses who “possessed a true nursing heart.”
