Heather Gaskill

                   When it was time for my mom to move from the acute care unit to the Neurosciences floor Heather noticed that my dad, who walks with a cane, was going to have trouble walking all the way to the Neurosciences floor. Heather made sure that he got a wheelchair along with someone to help push him.  During my mom’s seven day stay, this was the first time anyone had offered to do that for my dad.  He struggles with pain in his back and legs (he wears leg braces).  Due to the pain he can’t walk or stand for long periods of time. 

Heather’s compassion and care for my mom and my dad was very much appreciated.  It seems in our rushed world sometimes the elderly gets pushed to the side and unattended, but the care during my mom’s stay was exceptional.
