Holly Garrett

Holly transferred to the NICU from an adult unit less than three years ago.  Her transition has been gracefully navigated and she has become an asset to the NICU team and to our patients and families.  She embodies the values of UWMC and her commitment to excellence is evident in all that she does.  She goes above and beyond her bedside care to provide extra TLC for our tiny patients through her passion for infant photography.  She photographs each infant in the NICU and provides each family with a beautiful photo to show off at the bedside.  Often she embellishes the photos with ribbons, fabric for tiny outfits or beautiful border paper.  This extra special touch gives the families a keepsake to take home and adds comfort and meaning to their stay in the NICU.  Holly encourages her peers to participate in taking the photos and has even explored options for cost effective equipment for them.  Holly exemplifies the “Patients First” initiative, “every baby, every time!”
