Jean's nomination reads, in part: One patient came in for a GI procedure; it was obvious to Jean immediately that the bowel was perforated. She noticed before the MD. She alerted the MD, stayed cool, calm, collected and handled it quickly and efficiently. She coordinated the patient getting blood and going to surgery immediately. She really did save this person’s life. Jean every day demonstrates expert GI nursing care by staying calm and kind under any stress. She is an exceptional staff nurse and leader.
