Judith Cutchin

Woodhull Medical Center is proud to nominate Judith Cutchin, RN, Head Nurse, Oncology/ Diagnostic Services, and Coordinator, Rapid Response Team (RRT), as the 2010 HHC Corporate Nurse of the Year. Ms. Cutchin has demonstrated passion, commitment and dedication for the patients of the North Bronx Health Network (NBHN). She makes certain all patients receive evidence based practice care and have the best outcomes. She is instrumental in health promotion activities, preventing meningitis, and assisting in the development of the Point of Dispensing (POD) Prophylactic Medication. She has served as an active member of the team, dispensing medication to the “at risk” populations’ homes in the community. Not only is she a patient advocate but a nurse advocate, as well. She is a coach and mentor to all members of the nursing staff. Nursing Administration can always count on her to act and serve as a resource and assist leadership whenever necessary. Within the last 19 years, Ms. Cutchin’s accomplishments include the following: Staff Nurse in the Emergency Department, Head Nurse in GI, preceptor for new orientees in Infusion Therapy and Rapid Response Team (RRT) Management, resource person for Medical Surgical and Psychiatry units, and coordinator of the IHI Collaborative for RRT. .In addition, Ms. Cutchin spear-headed the Flu Brigade that won the HHC Patient Safety Award for Woodhull. Ms. Cutchin’s passion and commitment to the nursing profession shine in all that she does. She epitomizes this year’s national theme: Caring Today for a Healthier Tomorrow.
