In the past months I have seen this nurse grow professionally. Kate has taken on the Care Team Coordinator position and has become proficient in managing the environment. She is able to encourage team nurses to perform at their best. She checks orders and also updates physicians and other departments on patient status and needs. She rounds during the day and many times knows about patient needs before I do. She is thorough in performing rounds on patients.

Kate respects each nurse and ensures that they are able to perform their work and helps out when needed. She finds the tools and equipment needed to get the job done. She is also organized. For example, she will make sure she has all the information together before calling physicians and she groups calls together to be more efficient. Kate will go and discharge patients during the busy morning. Assignments and the plan for the day are clear when she is here. She is always optimistic and calm during the chaos. It will be a pleasure to continue to work with her and continue to watch her grow as a nurse. She is a role model and support for the “newbies” also!
