Katie Engelke

As parents of a 2-year-old, the past month has been exhausting, frightening, and extremely trying.  When our son first arrived, his condition worsened very quickly.  Katie was one of our first nurses and she has followed his care and progress throughout our stay.  She has left a lasting impression with us as she provided expert care that far exceeded those around her.  She eased our concerns by responding empathetically and explaining procedures and medications in detail.  She took the time to get to know us and our son, which was comforting.  She listened attentively to our questions and responded to our requests in a timely manner.  Her knowledge and compassionate response was reassuring during a very difficult time.  We appreciate everything that she has done and will remember her as someone who stood out among many nurses we encountered.
