Kelly was nominated by a group of colleagues from her unit who wanted to recognize her outstanding level of care and dedication to a family who lost a child in the Cardiac ICU. In the words of one of the four who nominated her for the award: “The care Kelly put into her work over those three days enabled this family and these friends to add to the lasting legacy of this child. At the same time she serves as a reminder to me as a professional the power of remaining present and caring throughout every interaction.” It was a very emotional and inspiring DAISY Award presentation for everyone in the Cardiac ICU and we commend Kelly for her exceptional work.
