Kim Woods

Kim Woods, RN is an all-around exceptional nurse. She easily meets all of the standards for this award and is a consistently positive role model. She is truly compassionate about the care and well being of patients here at Marion General Hospital.

Kim is dedicated to customer service, both internal and external. She is excellent at making service rounds a part of her normal day for each patient on 2-North. She is comfortable with having difficult yet respectful conversations with patients and their families. One result of her leadership and customer service dedication is that she put many personal hours into assisting with the 2-North Welcome Letter, carefully crafting it just right.

Kim participates as a staff liaison on several hospital-wide committees and never complains about the time commitment needed. Kim is always looking for ways to improve work flow processes on 2-North. She does not hesitate to jump in and “clean” up an area and reorganize due to our ever-changing needs. Just one example of her dedication includes making things at home like a movie list for the kids and parents to review. She took the time to make the choice list fun with kids’ stickers and bright colors.

Through her roles, she has been an exceptional pediatric nurse, surgical nurse, preceptor, and charge nurse. She is valued and respected by the staff she works with. The physicians also respect and trust her.

In summary, the staff looks towards her many years of experience as a great resource, her compassion as a leader, and her kindness as a friend.
