Kristine Cloutier

At Macomb Center, Kristine Cloutier, RN on 7 West was honored with a DAISY Award.  Kristine recently had a female patient admitted with heart issues.  The same day, the patient’s husband had been admitted to hospice. The patient was very upset that her husband could pass away without her at his side. The next morning, once the patient’s heart rhythm returned to normal, Kristine quickly contacted all three of the patient’s physicians and explained the importance of her being able to return to her husband’s side. The patient’s daughter submitted the DAISY nomination to thank Kristine for making it possible for her mother to be with her husband of 65 years when he passed away. The patient’s daughter said, “I believe that God placed Kristine in our lives that day. She went above and beyond, and for that I’ll be forever grateful.  My father had been asking for his wife for several days. He was aware of her presence and you could see a calm placed over him. I know for a fact that he waited for her visit.” The family of this patient was truly impressed with Kristine’s determination and compassion.
