Lamar Shafer

Nomination for Lamar was submitted by a coworker:

"I was caring for a patient that was very sick. Her husband and I were talking and he told me how much he liked Lamar. Lamar had cared for the patient and the husband told me he was comfortable with Lamar. He said one day while he was visiting his wife he was feeling sad. He said Lamar wasn't even caring for his wife that day. Lamar noticed the husband looked like he was having a rough time so he said 'come with me'. Lamar took the patient's husband to the gift shop and bought him an ice cream. They both sat downstairs and had ice cream and talked.

The patient's husband said how much that meant to him. He was very impressed with Lamar's compassion and caring."
