Laurie Crum

I would like to nominate Laurie Crum, RN for going above and beyond the call of duty in her daily work.  She is our resident spa therapist, buying shampoo, conditioner and hair accessories with her own money to use on our patients.

On one particular occasion I was caring for a trauma patient who was very ill and had a significant amount of blood in her hair.  The patient’s family was very upset about their loved one and continued to focus on the patient’s bruised and cut face.  This RN took time out of her own busy day to help me wash my patient’s hair and make her more presentable for her family.  Her attention to other’s needs and her dedication to our department and Memorial Hospital are further exemplified by her ongoing commitment and dedication to her co-workers.  She is responsible for organizing many team building events and has championed a benefit for a local family.  Her daily dedication to her patients, her coworkers and her community is truly inspiring and deserves recognition.
