These words were spoken at Manny's DAISY Award Ceremony:

You are a Nurse who exemplifies caring in all aspects.  Your patients remember you as a Nurse who checks them frequently, even if they don’t need anything.  One of your patients said your care was like “a son taking care of his mother.”  You are kind and gentle to your patients, especially the confused ones.  Your name always comes up when your colleagues are asked if there is anyone that should be recognized for doing a great job.  You help them a lot and anticipate their needs; therefore, your teamwork is at its pinnacle.

Another example of your compassionate care came from a father of a pediatric patient who said to your Manager, “You have the best Nurse on your unit, Manny.  He explained everything to me and kept checking on my son.  Today he called a timely RRT and my son is okay.”
