Maria Leonora Ladios

Ms. Maria Leonora Ladios, RN joined Metropolitan Hospital Center on February 3, 2003 as a staff nurse in the Adult Intensive Care Unit. Ms. Ladios was nominated as the Best Nurse in 2004 by the Medical ICU residents at Metropolitan Hospital Center. In February 2007, she was promoted as Head Nurse and finally rose to the rank of Assistant Director of Nursing for the Adult ICU. As a member of the Central Line Associated Bacteremia (CLABS) and Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAPS), Ms. Ladios was instrumental in reducing infection in the ICU. Additionally, as a Rapid Response Team responder, she was instrumental in the success of Metropolitan Hospital’s RRT initiative. She also led nursing on the Joint Commission transforming care for hand hygiene pilot initiative and trial. Known as a conscientious, passionate and excellent bedside nurse, Ms Ladios consistently demonstrates strong commitment to quality and safe care. She is looked upon as a driving force within her department- a goal oriented and highly motivated nurse. She goes beyond her work assignment when necessary and goes the extra mile. She motivates staff to accomplish unit goals and increase productivity on her unit. One can count on Ms. Ladios for improvement initiatives and projects in the nursing department and in the organization. Always eager to learn and share her skills and knowledge with staff, she’s also open to innovative and new ideas when it comes to her unit. Foremost, she is dependable in any crisis situation and in meeting deadlines. She demonstrates excellent organizational skills and uses her time efficiently.
