Marnetta Jones

The following letter was received regarding DAISY winner Marnetta Jones.

I would like to nominate my Administrative Director, Marnetta Jones, for the DAISY award.  There are some days when our surgery schedule is very busy and we do not have extra staff for lunch relief.  Marnetta offers any assistance that is needed to help facilitate the flow of the surgical procedures.  She is able to function in any role that is needed.  She relieves assigned staff for lunch and at the end of the shift when help is needed.  She has also on occasion relieved staff if they had to leave work for personal reasons.

One day, we had to perform a cardio-pulmonary resuscitation in the operating room.  Marnetta jumped in and assisted with chest compressions.  The patient survived and was later discharged home.  Marnetta was an integral part of this life saving act.

We were to perform our first donor procurement.  As usual, Marnetta offered any assistance needed.  The procedure was not done until early in the morning.  Marnetta was called in after midnight and faithfully came in and stayed for hours helping the operating room team. 

Recently, our department suffered a great loss.  She has been supportive in assisting us during this difficult time.  Marnetta is always eager to help and makes herself available for her staff.  She encourages us to call her when needed.  For these reasons, Marnetta should be honored with the DAISY Award.
