Melissa Lamkin

Melissa Lamkin is a nurse that sees the good in everybody, no matter what their background is. One patient in particular said "She sees me! Really sees me! Melissa didn't just see my dark make-up, piercings, and tattoos. She is the first nurse who cast no judgment."  Melissa showed this patient love, kindness and compassion, something the patient hardly ever receives.  She goes above and beyond.

Melissa saw this patient again, who was homeless, she had developed a bad infection. Melissa  called the Emergency Department and escorted her there.  The patient had no money for the antibiotics but Melissa reached into her own pockets and gave her money for bus fare and her medication. Melissa is the type of nurse I strive to be.
