Melony Stokes

Here is what a coworker had to say about Melony: “At the start of shift, we had an emergency C-section involving an infant who was not going to survive long after birth.  The patient was alone and overwhelmed while we were bustling around trying to get her ready for surgery.  The patient looked up, saw Melony, and said, ‘Mel, I graduated with you from school.’  Melony then said, ‘Yes, now I recognize you.’, as she caressed the patient’s face with her hand and reassured her that everything was going to be fine.  After the surgery, Melony took pictures and framed one so the mother could have a picture of her and her baby.  She brought comfort to this patient when everyone else was too busy with the task at hand.  She always goes the extra mile for patient care and for staff.  Thank God Melony works for UAMS.”
