Nedra Kane

Nedra Kane is truly an extraordinary example of what a “Daisy Nurse” exemplifies.  She is a positive influence on all of the staff that she interacts with.  Her compassion when providing end of life care to patients and families is evident in her attention to detail.  Nothing is too small for her to address.

Coworkers who follow her are constantly reminded by patients, family and staff members how Nedra makes them feel as if she has all the time in the world for them, never rushed or hurried but completely focused on their needs.

Nedra is the epitome of “team player”.  She is flexible with her schedule, willing to work anytime, juggling her schedule around a busy home life with her husband, three children and graduate school.  She never “passes the buck” as she always sees any issue through to completion.

As a palliative care nurse realizes that the “little things” are often part of the memories that families will carry with them after their loved one has died.  She treats every patient with dignity recognizing their unique needs, especially at the end of life.

Nedra often receives ‘Thank You’ cards from patients’ families acknowledging the exceptional nursing skills that she portrays on a daily basis.  Nedra is extraordinary nurse who make a big difference in the lives of her patients.
