Nina Mann

When I think of compassion, an image of Nina comes to my mind. I have been a nurse for over thirty years and have been privileged to work with many exceptional nurses. However, I honestly believe Nina just might be the most compassionate and committed of them all.

Nina is always the same no matter what the circumstances are! She is positive, respectful, and kind with each and every encounter she has with patients, families, and her coworkers. The specific acts of compassion are simply too numerous to mention, they’re just second nature to her. Nina’s tender words, soft touches, warm blankets, and gentle squeezes of a trembling hand have reassured many in our care.

It is truly an honor to nominate Nina for the DAISY Award; she models compassion, respect and dignity daily. While I sincerely hope she wins this award, it is our patients that are the real winners as a result of Nina’s care.
