Olayinka Duke-Pratt

The colleague who nominated Ola states: “Ola Duke-Pratt has been an RN for 16 years and has worked at IMVH for 9 years.  I feel honored in saying that we have had the privilege of having Ola as our “hidden little secret” on 6B for the past 4 years.  In our eyes, she is definitely due for a much deserved recognition.  Her professionalism, hard work, and dedication have ensured her ability to provide excellent patient care as a Registered Nurse. 

She is currently functioning as an RN3 on our Med/Surg Telemetry Unit.  Ola is very active in unit committees.  She is in charge of the Scheduling Committee and works diligently as our Wound Prevalence Representative.  She has played a tremendous role in the successful outcomes on IMCU.  She has been able to handle the fast pace of our Med/Surg Telemetry Unit with such a pleasant demeanor.  She has functioned as a charge nurse, preceptor, and a leader in quality improvement. In addition, she is notorious for taking every opportunity to assist new hires and current staff members in their growth and development on the unit.  As a hard working, dedicated, and enthusiastic employee she definitely has the respect of the management team, her peers, and the physicians. 

With all of that said, those of us who work with Ola on a regular basis know what a great asset she is to the nursing profession and to the Inova Health System organization.  We are just hoping to share a little bit of someone special with as many employees of the Inova Health System as possible.  I could not ask for a better representation of the level of nursing and compassion that we provide to our patients on 6B.
