Pat Tinsley

I have worked with Pat Tinsley for 9 years and can testify she is a role model for Rehab Nursing.  She loves her work, especially Spinal Cord Patients.  On weekends she sees her patients get showers, even if she misses lunch.  As charge nurse, she always takes a heavier load.  She does patient teaching, as well as, teaches new nurses.  She made arrangements of peace lilies in vases with fish in the bottom for patients and other co-workers for birthdays.  She bakes cakes or other food if she knows patient would like it and has been in hospital awhile.  Spinal Cord patients are her specialty instructing patients to self cath, bowel program, automonic dysreflexia. She helps understanding CVA patients, always compassionate. 

Recently one patient had global aphasia when he was yelling “my mother”.  What he was wanting was to go to the bathroom.  She has helped families cope with the change of status in life that a teenager or husband will have after a spinal cord injury.  She provides excellent care for all her patients. They love her and when they come back for a visit they ask for her.
