Rachel Elbl, RN

Telemetry, St. Luke's Hospital

Chesterfield, Missouri

Rachel was on duty on Saturday, March 13th the morning my stillborn granddaughter was delivered.  After our family got to see the baby, Rachel bathed her.  She performed this task with such tenderness and gentleness, I have told friends that she bathed my Josie like it was a prayer.  I would like to mention that all the staff could not have been kinder or more caring during my daughter’s stay.

Mary Thien (mother of Julie Erlinger)

On 3/4/10, I was induced and had Rachel as my delivery nurse.  She came in on 3/5/10 to help us, the final leg of delivery.  After the hours of pitocin and magnesium, I was tired and was ready to quit.  She answered every question no matter what, as if they were all so important.  She encouraged me when I swore I was too tired to keep going.  She made a very hard delivery bearable.  It meant so much that she came by the next day to see us.  Without her I would have pushed for a C-section, but she made everything okay.  We will never forget her!
