Sarah is observant, conscientious, and always helpful to patients, families, and staff in the ED. Sarah is frequently called upon to help out in the ED, and responds to subtle needs as they present.

I recently read a card from a patient's wife, thanking the ED staff for the care they gave to her husband, and daughter. Sarah was the nurse involved in a unique situation with this family. While camping at the local campground, the husband broke his leg. His 7-year old daughter was also with them in the ED. While his injury was not life-threatening, he ended up fainting and was out cold. The 7-year old was sure he had died. Sarah zeroed in on this child, sat with her, and explained everything to her as it was happening, so that she received the personal reassurance and care she needed in this unique situation. Sarah is skilled at this subtlety, especially with children.
