Shawna Holbrook

Shawna Holbrook graduated from the University of Iowa College of Nursing in July 2009. She also holds a Masters of Arts in Teaching degree from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon and a BA in English from the University of Iowa.

Shawna is a staff nurse in the Palliative Care unit and was nominated by the family of a terminal cancer patient that Shawna cared for, noting her great compassion for their father and her willingness to talk with them at any time. Not only is Shawna a nurse on the Palliative Care unit but she has been an Iowa City Hospice volunteer in her off hours for 4 years. She is a trained massage therapist, a talent many of her patients and co-workers benefit from!
