Simone Ross

Ms Simone Ross was born and raised in the island of Jamaica where she also attended Gainstead Preparatory and High School. In 1990, Ms Ross migrated to the United States and continued her high school education at Samuel J. Tilden High School. After graduating high school, she attended Medgar Evers College, where she obtained her Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Certification. In 2000, Ms Ross joined the dedicated staff at Dr. Susan Smith McKinney Nursing & Rehabilitation Center as an LPN and has remained a loyal, dedicated and motivated employee ever since. In an effort to give the best quality care to her residents, Simone realized and recognized the need for further education which would lead to self empowerment. As a result in 2005, she returned to school to obtain her license as a Registered Nurse. In 2007, Ms Ross became the Charge Nurse on 2B Dementia Unit. Her priorities as a nurse are to provide safe and effective quality care to her residents and appropriate training and development to her staff. Her focus is to remain steadfast in the pursuance of her mission and goal which incidentally parallels to those of Dr. Susan Smith McKinney Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Simone firmly believes that the love and support of her family along with the love and caring for the residents have been her motivation to succeed. Her ambition is to return to school to obtain her Master’s Degree and become a nurse educator in the very near future. She also owes her success to the facility she has adopted not only as a workplace, but one that operates with a family spirit. Ms. Ross’ daily Mantra is: “Whatever goal your heart desires, if you trust and believe, you can and will achieve”
