Tammy Fitzhugh consistently role models professionalism through her commitment to the core values of Saint Luke’s East – Lee’s Summit - Teamwork, Quality/Excellence, Customer Focus, Stewardship and Learning & Innovation.  Tammy not only Walks the Walk, but Talks the Talk.  As a charge nurse for the Maternity Center, Tammy identifies strategies to support all members of the care team while ensuring that each patient and families birthing experience exceeds their expectations.  Her commitment to the patient and their goals is best demonstrated by the recognition of families provided to management and hospital administration:

“My daughter gave birth for the first time and we know we couldn’t have done it

Without Tammy.  Tammy kept my daughter focused during labor & delivery.

She always had the answers to any questions and made us feel like family.

She was the one my daughter relied on to bring my granddaughter into this

World and I am forever indebted to her dedication and experience!”

“My experience at Saint Luke’s was amazing thanks to Tammy!  So much easier!

My boyfriend and I were very impressed by how attentive she was and great

With my “not so nice” attitude during delivery!”

“Tammy made my labor and delivery process a wonderful experience by

Providing comfort and laughter when I needed it.  She was a cheerleader

for me and made me feel like I was her only patient.  This is the second child

I have delivered with Tammy and I feel so lucky to have had two wonderful

              Experiences.”

Tammy consistently supports teamwork by demonstrating flexibility.  She frequently will drop everything to come in even during night shift when crisis situations arise providing support for her peers and our patients.  The Maternity Center at Saint Luke’s East is fortunate to have this dedicated professional as a member of out Team.
