Teresa Feldmann

Teresa was nominated by 6 of her peers in the CVCU unit, as well as by Jim Kuhn, one of Marion General’s physician assistants. There are certain words that were reiterated throughout each of the individual nominations…exceptional, knowledgeable, compassion for her patients, commitment to her coworkers, understanding, and advocate. Teresa is one of the founding nurses of the CVCU unit and is considered the “mom” of the department. She is always educating, guiding, lending an extra hand, and encouraging…always striving to help find ways to improve patient care for the patients and her coworkers. According to fellow nurse Deb Kantzer, “Teresa is the kind of nurse other nurses want to be after 30 years in nursing – still enjoying nursing, compassionate to people, and willing to accept the frequent changes in nursing.” Vicki McCombs states that she “is always thinking about her patients and what is in the best interest of getting them to the highest degree of health possible.” According to Barb McClain, she has “witnessed her compassion for her patients and their families.” Laura Slabach says that Teresa is “a wealth of knowledge and always very eager to answer any questions.” “She is the go-to nurse for both 1-North and CVCU,” stated Melinda Creek. According to Andrea Baker, when she was going through her own medical problems, Teresa was not only an advocate for her patients, but for her as well." But Jim Kuhn sums it all up…Teresa “is an exemplary nurse with a kind a gentle heart.”
