Terri Brooks, RN, PMHN

Behavioral Health, Bradley Center, St. Francis Hospital

Columbus, Georgia

Terri Brooks, RN, Bradley Center was selected by the Nurse Excellence Council as the DAISY award winner for February. She was nominated by 4 different patients who made the following comments:

  • I have been at the Bradley on several different occasions and each time I felt better than the time before. But this time I was extremely nervous that the staff would look down on me or think I was a failure for coming back, but it was exactly the opposite. This nurse welcomed me with open arms and checked on me constantly and when I needed to talk she was available even when she was busy.
  • She was very helpful and provided me with information on the importance of medications.
  • When I and my partner needed a ride home, since the policy was to provide a voucher for just me a cab home, we were going to just walk. This nurse would not hear of it. She told us if she had to she would pay for the cab. So that's how we got home. I owe her a deep amount of gratitude.
  • Very compassionate and caring about her patients; not just doing a job, she puts her heart into it.
