Terri Poole

Terri Poole is worthy of a DAISY Award because of her professionalism and her character. She is extremely knowledgeable, yet approachable. She is always willing to help the staff during times of uncertainty.

After a rapid response last night she came to the unit to update the staff on the patient’s condition and reassure the staff regarding the actions taken. She showed incredible compassion for the patient’s mother by calling the floor trying to find her so that she could be present with her child due to the patient’s rapid decline in health. She also encouraged the nurses to stay with the patient’s mother at the bedside during the code so that the mom would not be alone with unfamiliar people during her child's death. Even though the outcome was very sad, thank God this mother was not alone in the hospital waiting room, but instead was given the opportunity to be with her baby during her last moments of life, thanks to Terri Poole.
