An Extraordinary Nurse

Valerie Woolvett is the RN3 for the rehab, neurology and neurology/headache clinics.  She is very compassionate and caring, always taking time to listen and leading by example.  She empowers our clinic team by her “can do” attitude, her amazing neurology/rehab knowledge and living the UWMC principles. Patient Safety is a priority with Valerie.  She loves and cares about people and that shows in her day to day actions.  Patients know she is the go-to person for a lot of their questions.  Valerie has created a rapport with our MS patients and they have come to rely on her personal touch.  She recently passed the test to become a Multiple Sclerosis Certified Nurse. Her positive perspective is encouraging and she shows that assertiveness can be considerate and respectful.  One patient wrote, “You always have the knowledge and expertise to solve problems or take care of any situation that arises.  You make me feel like a special person….”  The patient went on to say, “We talk about “Patient Centered Care” in our Outpatient Advisory Council meetings.   Valerie epitomizes that concept.”
