Zach Edmiston

Zach is a very caring nurse that fully believes in the power of patient and family centered care.  Zach took care of a patient who came in to the hospital very sick with congestive heart failure.  The plan for the patient was to have a bivad. Before the procedure, Zach drew pictures on the white board and answered all the questions the family and patient had.  He came in on one of his nights off to see this patient and his family because he was scheduled to have his bivad the following day.  He consistently checked on the family while they were in the waiting room during the surgery and has continued to take care of this patient each shift he works. 

Zach is a testimony to what a GREAT nurse can do!  He is an excellent nurse, caring person, and we can all learn something from this wonderful man!

When presented with The DAISY Award, and dressed up as you see in the photo, Zach remarked that "Real Men Wear DAISYs" and we agree.
