Alice Ramirez Acevedo

“The soft, sweet melody was coming from another room…I could actually feel the love in it.  A nurse was singing the song as she was feeding her patient.  Both Alice and her patient were smiling.  The following morning, Alice was again assigned to take care of my pale, sickly neighbor.  Once again Alice took on the job of trying to nourish the pain-stricken patient.  Alice had an assistant who could have taken on the chore of feeding but I think Alice felt compelled to take the time consuming task…I am now willing to wait for my nurse to bring me an insignificant towel or an aspirin she promised me five minutes ago.  She may be busy soothing the final breath of another patient…She brought me to tears when she sang to this poor old lady in pain and her terminal illness.  Ms. Ramirez is very efficient and empathetic to all her patients.  She is a joy!  Her happiness and enthusiasm is catching.  She is an outstanding professional.”
