Amy Carroll, RN

OB Unit

Lake Pointe Medical Center

Rowlett, Texas

Amy Carroll, RN, has worked at LP since 1998.  She started here in the OB department as a new grad and has grown into a strong, well rounded nurse who is appreciated by both her patients and her peers.

Amy is energetic and always has a positive, can-do attitude, which is essential for successfully working in an area where the demands can fluctuate in minutes.  In addition to being a staff nurse, Amy is also a favorite as a Charge nurse in L&D.  She successfully manages to keep up with the many changes that can occur in L&D.  She successfully manages to keep up with the many changes that can occur in L&D, Post Partum and Nursery.  She is proactive in evaluation staffing needs for the oncoming shift.  All of this is in addition to her patient care responsibilities.

Her file is full of positive comments from her patients who quickly realize that Amy is a nurse they can rely on to be attentive and quickly meet their needs.

Her patients have stated complements such as:

“Whenever Mom needed anything she was very fast”

“She made my stay at LP much better with her great, caring attitude”

She managed to get my pain under control and kept me comfortable”

“Amy was wonderful!  I have never felt so relaxed in a hospital before.   All of my questions/fears were met with kindness and confidence with a smile.  She was professional and direct.  My privacy was maintained at all times and my family was made welcome.  Words can’t explain how great it was to have her as my nurse!  We just loved her!”

“Amy was outstanding!”

“Throughout a difficult pregnancy, Amy in L&D always made me feel safe and well cared for.  She stands out because of how she remembered me and my specific situation/problems.  Thank you!”

Some comments form her peers include:

Outstanding team player

I loved working with her.  She is so very knowledgeable and is always cognizant of who is caring for which patient at their level of acuity.  She is by far the best charge nurse I know.  She is the only charge nurse here who has actually come into my patient’s room to see if I need to be relieved for lunch, no matter how buy we are all are.  She is such an asset.
