Amy Daliva was nominated by her colleagues. Amy is a caring, compassionate and dedicated nurse. Her ability to create good rapport with patients and co-workers is appreciated. Her work generates enthusiasm and positive energy. Amy is consistently pleasant, tackling all assignments with dedication and a smile. She is always calm and treats all her patients with respect. I have seen her intervene in very stressful situations; she always knows what to say or when to just listen. She makes the unit “homey” with positive energy that flows from her with contagious effect. One day a patient was becoming quite anxious. Amy said, “I am going to sing to you. “ The calming effect was immediate without the need for medication or a code grey. Besides being a joy to work with, she is truly a take charge person, a team player and a nurse who has the compassion to assist patients with their individual needs.
