Carlin Smith

Wow, where do I begin?  Carlin is the most dedicated educator I have ever had the privilege of working with.  During my 15 years with Mission, I can truly say that Carlin is the face of Mission.  Honest, compassionate, dedicated, knowledgeable, inventive, intuitive, helpful, and one that goes above and beyond her role as educator.  I give her, not a “High Five” but a “High Ten”!

Carlin will help out on the floor as she passes by a room and notices a patient needing help, a beeping IV, a bed alarm going off, or participates in our codes.  Our Stepdown Unit takes care of the critical patients and when we have a particular difficult case (patient), she is always there to reference policies, review plan of care, etc when it comes to giving our patients the best and safest care!  She stays on top of this ever changing policy, computer upgrade and technology changes when it relates to us nurses!

To think what she has been doing for us and the “behind the scenes” meetings, classes, and new hires is incredible.  Keeping us up to date with education and problem solving is a definite challenge however, she is always smiling and has never portrayed if she is overwhelmed.

We love her and are so proud to have her dedication to not only our floor but to Mission Hospital.  Carlin is synonymous with the word MERITORIOUS!!
