Carlos Branham

Carlos Branham, RN, 3 South, received the July DAISY Award for Nursing Excellence. He was nominated by Shirley Stanford, Columbus Hospice, who wrote: “I wanted to let you know about a 3-South RN named Carlos...I admitted a patient to the Hospice House yesterday for end-of-life care. Even in their grief, the family had nothing but wonderful words to say about the care Carlos gave, how nice and professional he was. The daughter said he was very kind and always gave the impression he had time to answer questions and assist when needed. She also added, ‘Other nurses should take lessons from Carlos. He was wonderful!’

As for my brief encounter via phone, Carlos has the greatest phone presence giving report—upbeat, information readily available, knew patient history, voiced wanting to be accommodating on a convenient transfer time, etc. A+++ for Carlos!”
