Cheryl Pascoe is an excellent team player, consistently supporting coworkers and offering to help when needed. Cheryl is an exceptional advocate for patient safety and care - consistently giving suggestions for improvement and caring for patients as if they were family.

Today, Cheryl had the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.  She had gone down to get breakfast from the coffee shop and got onto the elevator with a patient and staff from the Cardiology Department. The elevator would not open after the doors closed, and she promptly picked up the red phone to let someone know that they were stuck in the elevator. To make a long story short, Cheryl was stuck in the elevator for over 45 minutes while waiting for Engineering to open the door.  As I stood outside the door, I could hear Cheryl lightening the mood, engaging the patient in conversation to divert his thoughts of being "stuck."  When she discovered the patient was diabetic, she offered him the breakfast she had purchased.  She was concerned that his sugar may go low and that his breakfast upstairs in the room was going cold.  In short, because of the positive attitude that Cheryl always displays, a very stressful situation was made much easier.
