“I was taking care of a pregnant patient with a pacemaker that the doctors had ordered to be interrogated. I had no idea of who to call to do this, so I called the EP lab, thinking that would be a good place to start. Dave answered the call and asked me which type of pacemaker she had. I had no idea, so he took down her name and medical record number and told me that he would research it and would call me back. When Dave called back and gave me the information I needed, I found out that he had called the individual pacemaker companies to find out what type of pacemaker she had! Furthermore, he called the nurse coordinator who needed to arrange to have the pacemaker interrogated and provided her with my phone number and name so that she could get back with me! This is an outstanding example of going above and beyond and working collaboratively with other departments! I am positively amazed that he went to all of this work, just to provide this patient (and me) with extraordinary care!
