Deanna Rolland

Here is what a parent had to say about Deanna:

My new born preemie was sent to Cook Children’s on a helicopter 4½ hours after he was born.  Being my first born I was terrified.  Deanna was the first person that I was able to talk to about getting to see him.  From the moment we walked in she began calmly explaining everything that was happening.  She knew exactly how to explain and calm us down.  She offered to speak to my wife who was still in another hospital, though I declined, she really took charge every time she was there.

I vividly remember one specific incident where some type of procedure was being performed and she took complete control.  She along with 3 other nurses were working on my son with a doctor watching the entire time.  The entire time she held control.  If other nurses asked questions about how or what to do it was Deanna, not the doctor that answered the questions.  She was very positive yet truthful as well as comforting and friendly.

I have never been more impressed by a nurse as I was by her.  Deanna is the most knowledgeable nurse we’ve ever seen.
